A Botanical walk in Japan

Herald of Spring, the Japanese cherry tree is famous across the world for the ephemeral beauty of its flowers. Other plants such as the Japanese maple tree or bamboos are also admired and allow one to travel to the country of the rising sun in the blink of an eye.

On this special occasion, Nicolas Perquin, professional nature guide and Japanese culture enthusiast, will offer you to accompany him on a botanical walk to the discovery of Japanese plants. Approaching this theme through the cultural, historical, ecological and culinary aspects, this moment will first take the form of a conference. It will then continue in a walk through the gardens of the Abbey. Searching for plants originated from japan, you will have the occasion to discover the Hakobe plant. Named chickweed in English, it is one of the seven wild herbs cooked during the Nanakusa no sekku festival and will be tasted at the end of the visit.
