Friends of Prémontrés

The Friends of Prémontrés (Les Amis des Prémontrés de Pont-à-Mousson), an association founded in 1972, exists to raise the profile of the Abbey, promote it and develop the activities that take place on the site. The association also organises conferences, culture-based outings and trips for its members.

With the support of Pont-à-Mousson council, the association has successfully completed various projects, including:

creating and promoting the Grandpierre library and its collection of antiquarian books,
restoring the Fontaine au Dauphin, which dates from the 18th century, and setting it in the courtyard.
In 2013, the Friends of Prémontrés were instrumental in launching the abbey church choir restoration project, which they support financially.

Firm believers in inclusiveness and the importance of familiarising young people with their heritage, the Friends offer free educational tours of the Abbey for school groups. These tours must be booked through the association’s secretary, Marie-Thérèse Chaumont, on +33 (0)3.83.82.47.55.
