Conference dinner “Samurais and cinema”

For the last week end of the exhibition “Samurai. Myths, cult and culture.”, the Prémontrés Abbey cultural centre offers you an original evening combining samurais, cinema and dinner cocktail.

At 6 P.M., the evening will open with a conference by Pascal-Alex Vincent - an expert of Japanese cinema - named “Samurai and cinema, the pleasures of the epic tale”. As soon as cinema came to Japan, the exploits of samurais have taken over the big screen. The public would run to admire those past heroes, who became the icons of today. From Musashi, the authentic warrior of the 17th century, to Zato Ichi, the blind samurai without forgetting the legendary "7 samurais" by Akira Kurosawa. A look back in extracts at those popular figures of the Asian seveth art.
